I was thinking that maybe there are members who may not participate a particular group read as the genre may not be of there liking. So can we have genre based readings or else if the participants are not sufficient then we choose genre for the month and then ask participants to nominate books from that genre. Like thriller, Sci-Fic, Fantasy, Spy, Historical, Myth-Fic and so on....
That would be interesting actually if there are quite a few genres running parallely. I'd like that if others are interested as well. I wouldn't even mind non-fiction. I always have a tendency to put off reading... So if there's a group read, it might make it more fun
I had suggested a non-fiction group read as well (since we had a few nominations) but did not have any takers. If more members are interested, we can go in for genre based group reads.
Alternatively, if it is a very small group, you can go in for something like a Buddy Read.

Yeah, group reads on different genres will work better once we have more folks joining in. Until then it's fine having a monthly fiction read. I'm not yet that into myth-fic otherwise I would join there. Maybe we could try different genres in fiction for every month? I'll remember to nominate a book for the next month.
We can actually try a genre month. We could have it repeating in a cycle. Month 1 could be sci-fi and the takers of it would join in. Similarly month 2 could be say non-fiction serving those who like it. Having multiple threads would kill the idea behind having an inclusive group dedicated to readers.

Agree with this concept. Those interested in that particular genre in that month can join, others can read the discussion and see if that interests them so as to participate in the next cycle.
