More often than not, the story is about the protagonist. Their dilemmas, their struggles, their rising above the call of duty. While it's nice to read about the protagonist, what about the other half of the story. No hero would be a hero unless there is lurking evil to test their heroism. Hence the antagonist. The pretty bad dude whom we all love. Yes admit it. You like a villain more than the hero for most parts.
So here is a thread dedicated to them .Throw in your fictional favourites from the villainy. Mine would be Iago from Othello and Amy Dunne from Gone Girl.
Count Olaf in the Lemony Snicket series. He won my heart by his sheer persistence, extreme creativity and the amount of villainy he is capable of! What an awesome fellow he is, that he often overshadows the protagonists in every book.
