Yes I do. Though I live in desert city of Kutch, I do try my best to make my garden alive. Not too fancy items are possible. I have planted usual Tulsi, Neem, Tagar, Hibiscus, Chameli, Rangoon kreeper and Jestopa.

Main challenge is to water them when I am out. I do put a bottle with small hole, in pots which are sensitive

I have great love for gardening. since i live in an apartment, i have a few plants only in my balcony like tulsi, jasmine and chrysantheums besides methi and chillies. occasionally i raise tomatoes.
But I have encouraged others and now we have a rooftop/terrace garden for plants, fruits and vegetables. the challenge is water. so we are going ahead with a recycling device

In water starved areas , water wise plants can be planted. In case ,if you have a big garden , you can go for Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, jasmine etc .In case of a small garden aloe , verbena , Bromeliad, Ixora etc. I have  Ixora, aloe, bromeliad, hibiscus, jasmine and verbena in my garden, and they have survived and blossomed even if i didn't water them for a week due to some reason. It is always better to use plants local to the area, if you go for exotic plants then  they don't survive and wilt away in few months.
