The hottest challenge for May seems to be 30in30. That seems quite a task.... reading one complete book a day. Then there is the Goodreads Read x books in a year Challenge, Brunch Book Challenge, Book Riot Read Harder Challenge, Popsugar Challenge. The list goes on.

What are your thoughts on these challenges? Do you take any of these?

Personally, I prefer the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. It pushes me to explore new genres although I am barely able to tick off half the list by end of the year. The number game does not work for me. As much as I would like to read books all day, got other responsibilies too.

Topic credit to jhsurti and his comment on deadlines on the multiple books at a time thread .

I only take the Goodreads challange of "Books per year". More to keep a track of the books read. Reading should be a pleasure and enjoyable. Nevertheless, I still support the Popsugar Challenge which makes you explore different genres, which we may otherwise not venture into.

A clarification here. I am a male.
I don't take up any challenges. I read for pleasure, Not as a task.
Thanks for the credit.

No can do. My exams are coming up and if I decided to 30in30 (which I can pull off for I love binge-doing stuff) my mum would disown me. I could also end up homeless.

But someone here do give it a try. I'd like to know how did the binge reading go.

Well, I wouldn't be able to do it in any case. My profession doesn't spare me that much time. (I have to read my journals and stuff too!)

Anyways, best of luck for your exams.

Reading isnt an endurance Sport nor is it something merely to be posted or flaunted. One reads because one loves to, Speed reading and reading challenges are good if one wants to inculcate the habit but are useless for avid readers

I agree, the pleasure of reading is in the process, not in its completion however, it would be good for beginners
