Unable to use front camera

I am unable to use front camera in my sony xperia mobile . I wonder is this a software issue or a hardware issue.

After open it say any error ! it any error say try another camera app from PLAY STORE!

When i am opening camera its automatically opening the back camera and there is no feature to open the front camera now..
