China only yesterday accepted they did have this problem which means official confirmation though it happened way back in 2012. China also said human-human transmission is now happening with a mutated form of this virus. H5 is the SARS coronavirus and its mutated form is the H10N8 refered in the article below.

I don't know.


Reuters reported the first human infection from bird flu yesterday in China yesterday.


"A 41-year-old man in China’s eastern province of Jiangsu has been confirmed as the first human case of infection with a rare strain of bird flu known as H10N3, Beijing’s National Health Commission (NHC) said on Tuesday."

If Reuters reported it just a few days, it must have already spread to other countries  in my opinion as media access to that province in Guangdong and most of Shenzhen is very limited.


Saw two news item about culling of birds  in Netherlands and Vietnam going into lock down. Hope that is the extent of the whole deal but do not know.

As far as India is concerned saw news about dead wild birds especially geese in Himachal three months back.
