As told by a passer-by:
Iparked in front of a mall, wiping my car, when a tramp approached me. From thelooks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money.
Thereare times when you feel generous but sometimes you just don't want to bebothered. This was one of those "don't want to be bothered times".
Ihope he doesn't ask me for money, I thought. He didn't. He sat down on the curband after a few minutes he spoke.
"That'sa very pretty car," he said.
Hewas ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly beard keepsmore than his face warm. I said, "Thanks," and continued wiping mycar. He sat quietly. The expected plea for money never came. As the silencebetween us widened something inside me said, "Ask him if he needs anyhelp." I was sure he would say "Yes" but I held true to theinner voice.
"Doyou need any help?" I asked.
Heanswered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We oftenlook for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higherlearning and accomplishments. I expected nothing but an outstretched grimyhand. But he spoke the three words that shook me.
"Don't we all?" he said.
Iwas feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a tramp in thestreet, until those three words hit me. “Don't we all?”
Ineeded help. Maybe not for a meal or a place to sleep, but I needed help.
Ireached in my wallet and gave him enough to get a warm meal. Those three littlewords still ring true.
Point: No matter how much you have, no matter how much you haveaccomplished, you need help too. No matter how little you have, no matter howloaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you cangive help. Even if it's just a compliment, you can give that. You never knowwhen you may see someone that appears to have it all. But they may be waitingfor you to give them what they don't have!

I have come across many people who were once successful with their own businesses, had great careers and were highly ambitious.

The differences between them and many others was that even though they could be seen sleeping in park benches (with nothing to their name but the clothes on their back) were their self esteem, their self respect, dignity and in some cases their humbleness, humility and good manners and even more so their belief this was a temporary phase and how they would rise again and achieve higher goals within a decade.

Someone can be poor, but highly target driven and motivated. Others can be highly educated but so poor at attaining future career prospects and recognising opportunities. Others still can have few qualifications, but have the expertise and skills to grow and expand.
