An old monkplaced few items under a blanket & asked his three disciples to comeforward & take any one of the items of their choice. He gave a black bag& instructed them to put the item in the black bag & also told them notreveal what they took. All thethree stood behind each other & waited for their turn to take the item oftheir choice & each one of them took it. The oldmonk asked the first disciple what he took, the disciple said " I took thetreasure box", the second disciple also said " I too took thetreasure box & the third disciple said I took the piggy bank" The oldmonk asked each one of them to share their reason & the first disciple said"I liked the treasure box & I found it more attractive & I felt Ican use it in the future to store some precious items. The seconddisciple also said the same reason The oldmonk asked the third disciple why he took the piggy bank, the disciple said"I can save for the rainy day" The oldmonk asked all the three disciples "why is that none of you took thedustbin?” All the three started looking at each other & one of them said" I found the treasure box to be more useful than the Dustbin" andthe disciple who took the piggy bank said the same. The oldmonk smiled and one of the disciple asked him master "What did you select, when your master conducted the same experiment? "The old monk said "I selected the treasure box" The oldmonk said "Dustbin" The disciples looked at the dustbin as well asthe master & asked "Master, why did you select the dustbin?" The mastersaid " Without dumping the negatives like hate, guilt, jealousy, biasesetc., I understood that I cannot earn much & preserve somethingprecious, I found piggy bank & treasure box will not have much to store ifmy dustbin is not full" Thedisciples placed their items & walked with dustbins in the hand. Point: Removing negativity from your life leaves more room forpositivity to grow. Amazing things happen when you distance yourself fromnegativity.
