Reading Room - Book download stats appear incorrect

There's some weird download stats that I noticed in some threads I posted. I added the book 'The Bear Went Over the Mountain' to this thread on 29.01.2019 and today, it shows 2366 downloads for the book!




Added the book Chitty on Contracts Volume I and Volume II here on 01.02.2019 and today, it shows 335 and 392 downloads respectively!




Winfield and Jolowicz on Tort added on 01.02.2019 and 273 downloads today!




That doesn't seem to be correct looking at the download statistics in other threads in general. Wrong counters? Some sort of bot activity/search engine crawl? Or is it just me (sounds unlikely).
