The Penguin book of Modern short stories

So often I have felt a certain detachment to reading anymore after I have read a novel or a series. I get out of it by turning my attention to short stories. This is a treasure trove for people who love stories, these are pieces from Masters across the contry like Amrita Pritam, Nirmal and RK Narayan, all translated very well; marvelllous and entertaining

These are stories about us, its very easy to spot familiar characters amongst them; people whom we had met or meet still. This is like a reservoir of feelings, emotions which all of us feel at some point in life.

A must read, it wont take much of time to complete this collection but this would surely leave you with a strong after taste which would linger for a long time in your mind.....

I have been meaning to pick the book since it includes some of my favorite authors. I have an old print version of its English Short Stories... a brilliant compilation. Great to have a Indian version of it too.
