Yes. I have. I don't know how common it is though. When I face a reader's block, I don't try to push myself by picking something else. I simply don't read in that phase. I watch some piled up TV shows like Bizarre Foods, or some movie I had wanted to see. Or when I don't have access to TV - like in my consulting room waiting in between patients - I play some game. Or solve a cryptic crossword(that is very very refreshing and stimulating!). Eventually the phase passes and I feel like picking up a book.
If it happens, it happens. That's it. I haven't found a way to tackle it, so I stay away from books and indulge in other hobbies until I want to read again. I like to doodle, write, paint or tidy the bookshelves if nothing else.
yes i have felt a reader's block lot of times. So I dont try to do anything about it. I just give take a break or pick up a genre which i generally dont read maybe a romantic novel or just stop reading for few days
Talk about it. It is such a genuine and frequently visiting problem. I have experienced it so many times. The only thing that I do is I take a break. I deviate my attention towards watching movies or television or web series. That so helps getting over that phase.
