The book pick depends on the reader. Indian authors for both classics and contemporary are at par with the foreign authors. There is as much to learn from Indian books.

Doesn't really matter- does it... Nowadays Indian authors are also writing wonderful books with great story-lines, they are well researched, have depth in it. Go for.what you like
The genre where they have to catch is may those romance ones ...and I'm talking about pure english ones here not any other language

Should Hardly matter. So long as good books which hold your interest are written, author nationality is not  important

I like reading stories that I can relate to, so I always look for new books by Indian authors. That being said, I try to read from authors of various nationalities as it is the story that matters.

Fascinated by recent indian fiction books, but a good book is a good book no matter who writes it!

Works both ways for me. Foreign stuff brings the exotic home to me; Indian stuff - I keep scouring to discover genuine, passionate and inventive storytelling. I'm happy to walk the bridge between the two as a reader.
