I actually really liked the first 4-5 books, Banker's descriptive language appeals to me and in te ...
It happens in book series. First few books are good. But later on it looses the plot or becomes monotonous. Or the latter books are always compared with successs and novelty of previous ones.
Take example of Amish,
I like Shiva Trilogy. But the Ramchandra series does not hold the magic of that one.
I have read the Aryvratta Chronicles and many others from Krishna Udyashankar and yes she does good job in de- godding chracters and showing them in a refreshing new light as people like us
and one name i am not finding here is Anand neelkanthiyan.....his way of looking at the epic mahabharata from the viewpoint of the Kauravas is something if not less thought provoking.
cristopher c doyle has gone for myth based thrillers on mordern context like Aswin sangvi................ which can be considered a different genre.............but the one that was too unpalatable was satrujit nath............The guardians of Halahala........just bogus.....in my opinion
amritangshu pandey has also shown good exponence in this area with his scrolls of Aryavarta and seal of surya..........any idea if any sequel of this seal of surya has been published or not?
I was at first apprehensive to read Ashok Banker.
Then I picked up Ten Kings and I was hooked ! What a fabulous tale of a lesser known historical war.
Wish its sequel comes out, it has been pending since long.
