It may not be out of place to mention 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand here. A whopping 1168 page novel published in 1957 as a single volume. It was Rand's fourth and final novel, it was also her longest, and the one she considered to be her magnum opus in the realm of fiction writing. Atlas Shrugged includes elements of science fiction, mystery, and romance, and it contains Rand's most extensive statement of objectivism in any of her works of fiction.

It took a three months time to finish in instalments when I read it a decade back.

I think that would be LOTR of course. Or may be Stephen King's It ? Both have almost same pages. While I read LOTR in a long period of time, 'It' took almost a month to finish.

Right now I am onto Sacred Games, and damn that is too slow at present. 22 days and I am done only 30% ... pfffft...

I have all the original four volumes of Saraswatichandra with me. Bought by my father when they were first published. I have preserved them well. Tried to read it a few times. Always reached up to the end of second volume and couldn't go on to the third and fourth. A bit too difficult to read with the language used in those days.
