which book was it based on??

The movie Guide was based on the novel The Guide by R.K.Narayan.The movie was directed by Vijay Anand and the main lead Raju was played by Dev Anand.You should really watch this movie.

I would not include Harry Potter to this list. Though the movies are good, they differ from book in sub plots and are not true to the book.
