I have my doubts. There is a very simple reasoning to it. While a newbie or rookie may be appreciative of a particular post (and rightly so), the Admins (including Mods/Supermods etc.) have a better overall perspective and special incentives like "Karma" should be awarded by them.
I see the good side of having the ability to award "Karma". I think this would be especially useful for those who do not have enough money to award to a post that they like.
that is good idea.but if someone has 0 or one karma how will that person gift karma as
reward?will we the users have non-usable bank of karma that can only be gifted away
?else if craxme allocates karma to users like the virtual money rewards then users can
hoard the karma for self use rather than using it for increasing forum activity at their
own discretion.like i have only one karma so donating away this one karma makes me
reluctant.but in my posts where i wished to thank or appreciate those who replied I
had no qualms rating them with my Virtual money as I knew I can easily earn them back
slowly so it did not make me miserly or hesitant to appreciate their response.
perhaps introducing some kind of badges or tokens will be better that which can have
no hoarding benefit or buying something for self is possible.that way no one will have
any hoarding or miserly attitude.it will rather encourage more n more interactions n
appreciations between users.
