Why should I do binge reading.... What happened to the good old reading for pleasure. Do these peopl ...

It appears not to be the joy of reading anymore, but following the trends. Whether it is arranging your book shelf by color (looks beautiful no doubt, but definitely not practical). Or worse, arranging the books with spines on the inside. Why would anyone do that?

I would like to add something in this discussion that I forgot to mention earlier... Binge reading, atleast for me, isn't about following a trend or competing to completing many books asap. It's sometimes useful - for instance, I am freelancing now and have lots of time in my hands - so I try to read as much as possible now. When I take up a regular job later, I know I won't have that kind of free time. :-)

It goes with the minimalist decor . With all the grays and whites, a colorful bookshelf sticks out like a sore thumb, apparently. Practicality be damned.

I too feel binge reading is different. It is about the long weekends, or as you said, more time on hand when you want to read the books you have been waiting to read for a while. There is no target in mind.

i dont like taking reading challenges. i rather like to read books that challenges my imagination.
