System Karma Rating is coming for Users

Hi MODS
I am an avid reader and look fwd to getting books from this forum. But I have to tell I'm also tech illiterate, atleast compared to the ppl who frequent here.
Why are you complicating things, lets keep it plain and simple. Want a book- get a book. This was the whole pretext to form this new forum breaking from UC. Now everytime I log in some new incomprehensible things popup.
I dont know ifothers like me are here or not but my sincere request....Keep it simple.

Interesting, May be its better implemented in phased manner , People with certain number of posts like 100 or so or ones with good credits like 50 or so may be have access to give karma to everyone including newbies who are posting good content . Karma giving may also be restricted like once a day for those users or 10 for month so on . The pesrons who are getting good karma may also be encouraged like with " member of month " so on.

I'm not in favor of allowing every user to give karma rating. The possibility of abuse of this privilege is very high. I believe that we have a good system now and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

This looks like a good idea as it would encourage even the other users to voice their opinion on posts.

Good idea but it should be based on quality.  It should not be similar to our reality shows where more no of SMSs means better quality. Mobocracy does not work everywhere!

Good idea. While there are some risks with abuse I like the approach of trying something different, seeing how it works, and adjusting as necessary.
