Very Interesting. In fact I liked and found it more plausible than the tradional tale that we have ...
That has been an advantage of authors jumping on the myth-fic bandwagon. They question if the 'antagonists' were indeed all black.
Anyone here watches Dharmakshetra on Epic channel? The way the show explores each character from Mahabharat as they justify their actions in the court of Chitragupt is interesting.
You should also try out Salil Desai's "Lost Libido and other Gulp Fiction". A collection of his short stories. Some of them O Henry style. Quite enjoyable read. I have uploaded it in the Salil Desai thread.

I hated Ajaya. Neelkantan has practically destroyed Mahabharat with his book. In order to write about Duryodhan he has vilified every other character. And just when I thought the book couldn't be any worse he goes ahead and nearly justifies Draupadi's molestation. By the end of it I was seething. And it wasn't just Mahabharat he played with but also Ramayan in his retelling by the title Asura. He was also the man behind that dastardly television series called Siya Ke Ram. He just killed it. Rather brutally murdered it.

I loved that series. Dharamkshetra was probably the first series that had put in so much of research into it before airing the same. I remember we had gotten hold of the series writer back in 2014 and had a little chat with him. He told us how he and his team researched the epic for two whole before scripting the episodes. It definitely bore fruits for the series turned out to be marvellous.
