Books were a lot better, of course. Because they spoke the character's mind to us which may not be ...

I have often found the movie adaptation of the first book in the series is true to the book. Beyond that, there are tons of creative liberties.

Ha ha ha he must. Who knows he will reborn and writes remaining or atleast you should sumup and write 1 book that concludes the sereis.

Probably A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. I have read Shantaram too but that was shorter than the form ...

How is that book?  I tried many time to read that one but looking the pages I didnt dare

I had passed through the same phase and it took some encouragement from one literary group members to make me read it. And boy, what a book! I wouldn't mind reading it again. Very very well written with easy flow of the story. The characters all well developed. Many new authors need to take a lesson from him on how to write.
