I can glean quite a few from the discussions in the book club, particularly myth fics. Or we can g ...

Well..in all those books that you mentioned i have read only the Shiva triology..But i agree this is a great idea..and a small suggestion..along with the genre if we go with a author it would give us more space to discuss about many works of that author at a same time so that more people get to participate keeping it more interactive..

My favourite ones would be a long list but mainly Mystery/Thrillers/Espionage. So I guess let others chime in and I'll see if I can discuss or can be an audience.

@jhsurti  We sure are a diverse bunch The idea is to start a conversation about books.

@pearkydarlz and @cleneloalvaroid: That is a good idea. We can discuss the author and books based on genres.

@mousetrap: Curious to know your list of books too.

@pearkyd ...

I'm willing to discuss any book of any genre though I've hardly read any popular authors like Ken Follet, Robert Ludlum or Fredrick Forsyth. I've been meaning to read them at some point, so this is as good time as any other if we're going to discuss any of them.
I am wondering if it'd be a good idea to discuss books from the 'all time best novels' and lists like that are available. This could be a mix of old and contemporary classics like mice and men, catcher in the rye, fahrenheit, clockwork orange, hobbit and such.

Discussing different Indian author books is also a good idea. Most of us might have read Bhagat, Tripathi, Ravi Subramaniam, Ashwin Sanghi... So we could discuss their books too.
Also wondering if short stories would work? There's plenty by bond, rk narayan, hh munro... It'd also be easy to read and join in a discussion if it has not been read before.

Another idea that could bring about a stimulating discussion would be controversial books, though I am not sure if there are many.

Yup... Discussing different books by the same author is also a good idea.

These are great suggestions. But the issue I have is that it would turn into another group read. That is the reason I suggested picking a book already read and not keeping it time bound.

Controversial books and authors.... we have a lot going there for sure.
