I subscribed to Target. I had a whole bunch of them issues that I stashed away in the attic for the longest time. Then I had to go away for work, and I think mum gave 'em away to the raddi wala or something - can't find them anywhere. (one of the fun things about spring cleaning is when you find an old notebook / textbooks with marginalia and doodles from back in the day, or the odd comic. Stokes nostalgia like no one else's business!)
Target. They did a lovely cover - very colorful. Especially with Ajit's illusrations. I loved that first page full of Ajit's pocket toons (Ajit's funny world?) and detective moochwala, and I got a big kick out of that "Target club". Living in Bombay of old, it wasn't much use because all their acitivities were Delhi based. But having grown up on a steady diet of famous five and secret seven, it was nice to get a badge and a membership card to the "Target club". LOL. and it was so much fun getting something in the mail with your own name on the envelope (besides the annual report card! - which, you opened not with a little dread - so, no, that was not fun!).
The Amar Chitra Kathas and Indrajals can be had off of torrents, but no one seems to have uploaded Targets hitherto - and there is very little chance that anyone might. You might be able to run into the odd scanned page or cover here and there, but not entire magazines. So, that's a bummer!
