No... At least, it does not apply in the case of my mother-in-law...
Have you seen the movie "The Devil Wears Prada"?... The character Miranda Priestly is almost a kind version compared to my mother-in-law, who by the way is a very conservative, religious and incredibly machista... Although, it is very likely that inside she, there is a little kindness and appreciation for me, although very, but very deep... LOL

I do not think my mother-in-law softens with diamonds, no, if those diamonds come from me...
I suppose she would prefer to see me become a religious fervent, reading the Bible and going to church on Sundays...

There are multiple artistic manifestations regarding human sexuality and in particular female beauty... The problem arises when those concepts are demonized and condemned
In different places of the world, in all the continents, there have been such artistic manifestations, ranging from literature, painting, sculpture, music inclusive... For example, here are some samples of these artistic and cultural expressions:
Image
Venus de Milo

The Birth of Venus

Shunga - Japanese erotic art

Sex Pottery of Peru: Moche Ceramics Shed Light on Ancient Sexuality

Erotica Temples khajuraho in India

On the other hand, there is also a widespread and profound confusion about what is Erotic, Pornographic and Obscene... In such a way that those concepts are conceived as immoral, sins or crimes, in many places of the world. But the truth is, the human being is basically a sexual being, that is, sexuality is inherent to the human being and is part of his/her nature.
Not everything erotic is pornographic or obscene... The erotic, the pornographic and the obscene, they are not in the object (pictorial, sculptural, literary, etc.), but rather those concepts are in the eyes of the spectator, and can be a reflection of his/her intellectual, moral and mental limitations.
The best thing is to have an open mind and free of prejudices based on beliefs.

1- there is no problem about reading of the bible as long as u keep an open mind that a lot existed before noah and adam and that component is not documented. u must also remember that there is an aspect of living again after he was crucified which is interesting. 30 years of his early life are not documented where he spent time with caravans of the east and in the east (my country's vedas mention his presence and he was a fast and comprehensive learner)

2- Apollo is an art form (he should have had a fig leaf possibly) what is special is the sculpting of the musculature of the human form which as u may say is artistic. There was a similar sculpture called the veiled rebecca which I had the pleasure of seeing when I was in Hyderabad....loved the way the veil was made....I know how hard it must have been making the excellent artform in marble..have tried sculpting in chalk and have had realised there is  much to learn.BTW I always thought of michealangelo as being a really talented bloke and was never of the opinion that he was a pervert.

3- There is usually nothing wrong abt either the erotic or the artistic as long as everyone who discusses it is on the same plane of brain development in appreciating art and not the profane. Usually the male of the species is designed by nature to explore while usually the woman is at the receiving end of all misuse and abuse it helps to be always careful abt what one says or does whether in personal life or on the social media. Towards that u may note that in cultures in the east which were less forgiving of a woman's expression of her freedom and where there were multiple invasions where they were carried off and troubled, it remained safer to conciously stay safe in veils and covered garments. Where the world had more equality it was ok to be bolder. Its a personal choice more than anything. One has a right to safety. I personally was brought up to think independently and question things and read abt other cultures and religions so I may have a broader mind than some women and men in my country but I do have the sense to dress conservatively when I travel to such regions and to behave as the locals do so that no action is treated as new fashioned which usually translates very fast to shocking... e.g. in delhi there was a time u could not go out in a salwar kameez (loose trousers and long tops) without a dupatta (cloth covering on the top) and if u did the whole town would be chattering in shock.....thankfully with education things are changing. One day appreciation of art will also reach a higher oossibly spiritual level of appreciation of pure form..till then we await the world to change.

1- there is no problem about reading of the bible as long ...

I think the day will soon come when religious books, such as the bible, the torah and the Koran, will be considered as fantastic literature of myths and legends.
I suspect that Jesus learned many things from other places like India or China, before venturing to create a seditious movement among his Jewish community... Strictly speaking, Christianity is basically a sect derived from Judaism. By the way, it must have been very easy for Jesus, to sacrifice himself for all humans, especially when he knew that he would be resurrected on the third day.
Most religions "sell" the concept of salvation, they need to create in people a feeling of guilt and sin, and then offer them the salvation of their souls. Christian children are born with original sin, an invention created precisely for that purpose of selling salvation.
The great majority of religions are fundamentally misogynist and machista, they consider women as being inferior and impure. For example, it is enough to read Leviticus or the gospel of Saint Paul in the bible, to note the high degree of misogyny, perversion, evil and cruelty towards women.
Other religions of the group of Abrahamic religions, such as Islamism and Judaism, share these same misogynistic criteria.
For example, tribes live in the Amazon whose women walk naked, no one in "civilized" societies condemns women for walking like that, however, those criteria with these poor and isolated women of the jungle do not apply when a beautiful woman decides to walk bare-chested in the middle of the city, the worst adjectives would fall on that woman... Since even for such situations there is a double moral standard.
Forcing women to use a veil is basically a form of censorship, repression, condemnation... Multiple moral criteria will be attributed to justify the use and obligatory nature of the veil, but nobody was born with those criteria in mind, they were created with a purpose, to keep women subjugated... That extends even in terms of access to education, for example, some families privilege the education of their sons, and condemn girls to have no education, that situation It is very common in poor communities in the Andes of South America.
But there is also a criterion of underestimation towards women, considering them to be weak and vulnerable, when in reality, women are human beings like any other, with capacities and potentials that can enable them to achieve their own goals and efforts.
The problem also arises when in some societies women are denied the opportunities to develop their potential.
One can only choose, if one has options and criteria to make a reasoned choice. When there are no options, there is no choice, but rather imposition... And when there is no intellectual development, there will be no reasoned choice, it will simply be a pseudo-choice based on the shoal or herd criteria.
Do not forget that in many parts of the world, women do not have the opportunity to decide about themselves, and they do not have enough options to make a real choice.

whoa here is a bloke who believes in equality .....except for ma in law....

1- Abraham supposedly treated his wife and women as an equal (Sarah) as did Jesus (Mary Magdalene among the other women in his life).

2. All religions were conceptualized by wise people who were possibly free thinkers who have analysed the darkness of the human spirit (which is driven by need and greed alone). They devised fear of karma and god so we dont hurt each other or kill. If we do the species will end. Besides this care of the env was woven in. So to me each religion is a subobject of these principles customized for local env. I dont see much diff between the percepts of the Gita , Koran or the Bible or the Torah or any other religion. Most were a treatise of social and community living woven in.

3-Jesus had little choice regarding his sacrifice. He was a bold free thinker and unafraid in a world where herod and the other greek gov were ruling. Both men were well versed in the art of politics and power and saw him as a threat as did the Rabbis who were powerful religious leaders so the situation he faced was very akin to situation today e.g. in rabidly religious countries today. Naturally he was perceived as an enemy and marked to be killed. Sadly his apostles also showed the same level of behaviour as friends do today. Some stood by him , others like Peter denied (3 times) and Judas betrayed him. He had no choice. He probably was also part alien so he could self repair or was a siddha who exists beyond time. So he could spiritually materialize at will. These things are possible if u become so adept that u can cross time.

4- Man has one half of a chromosome while a woman has full length sets. Naturally she is more powerful. She is the first choice to materialize when the env is not condusive. Female turtles are born when weather is adverse. Cold countries have more female births than warm countries...man knows the power a woman has on him. She produces children something that is a mystery for man. She survives better in most adverse conditions. A widower will live less if his wife dies but a widow will find a way to survive be it for the children or for herself. ...This is one reason why most men specially those that crave power be it religious, personal or political seek to subdue the woman. As you rightly say the veils and moral codes are a way to physically keep them subdued.  The trouble has been that women are brought up to believe this. But again it remains a choice of the woman. Women who are subdued are not truly so. In kingdoms the politics that played out in harems would have put the politics of men to shame. So many kingdoms changed because of this. Today it plays out in Saudia also. The mother of the crown prince is an educated woman of modern thought though relatively unknown otherwise. It remains to be seen if he will respect women more than his traditional predecessors. Equality is the right of the woman and she alone decides how much of it she gets. Its her choice and she always has it come what may. Of course physically she is not as strong or powerful. She compensates as a multitasker and agile adaptor.

whoa here is a bloke who believes in equality .....except ...

• Actually, Abraham consented to the prostitution of Sarah, and had a son with his slave Hagar... Then Sara had a son, (supposedly a gift from God) from son of Sarah, Isaac came from the Jews, from son of Hagar, Ishmael came from all the Arabs. Abraham is by antonomasia, the expression of patriarchal machismo. • Actually, the first religious manifestations are observed with the Animism, under which, the first thinking humans tried to explain the phenomena that occurred around them, through the concept of a superior being, that is why, they deified both natural phenomena , as to animals and objects. The only reason why God exists, is because there are still things for which man has not found a reasonable explanation, yet.
In the name of God, a lot of blood has been spilled, a lot of people have been killed. Religion should not be a justification to kill.
Certainly, religion was constituted as a means of social control, at first it was tried to control the tribe, nowadays, the control is about entire countries.
• In reality, Jesus lived in a historical context where the Jews were the possession of the Romans. Jesus certainly tried to change that reality, both because of the rigidity of Judaism represented by the high priests, and because of the situation of domination exercised by the Romans.
Who is more traitor?, Judas who ended up committing suicide after betraying Jesus, or Pedro who saved his life by denying Jesus.
The truth is that there are apocryphal gospels that clarify many things, but for convenience have not been incorporated into the set of books that make up the bible.
• In reality, it is not a matter solely of chromosomes, it is more a question of evolution.
In all species, females have always had to be more resistant and strong to ensure the survival and reproduction of the species, statistically the number of males is lower than that of females.
The submission of the woman  reveals a situation of inferiority of man, since, to demonstrate superiority it is necessary to subject someone.
On the other hand, there is no choice when a woman wants to take off her veil and then she is condemned to death by stoning or lynched or imprisoned... Elections are made and freedom, if not, are not valid choices... To choose, two or more options are needed, it is not chosen when one has only one option, unless death and humiliation are considered as an option.
• Machismo is not an exclusivity of religion, nobody is born being macho, those things are taught and learned. In that sense, education plays a very important role, but not any education, but rather education with equality and freedom... Unfortunately, in many places in the world, that does not happen.
