Is there no possibility of private recordings by fans or anyone else of the match.

There are Youtube videos that talk about it, so there might be someone or some people who taped at least part of the match.

On a slightly different note, 1983 was also Zimbabwe's first ICC World Cup.

In 1979 the country was called Rhodesia and was still under White minority rule.

Robert Mugabe was also not yet President either.

Zimbabwe was in its third year of independence when it lost to India in 1983 and it would not be until 1987 it would record its first World Cup victory (against eventual champions Australia by 13 runs).

1983 win was great.it  gave Indian Cricket a new frontier and indian cricket became more circumspect.
