I didn't love Devdutt Pattanaik's Bhagavat... I find his treatment of texts too much like a literature class, dry and superficially analytical without any consideration for their meaning and beauty :/
Just finished listening to Saiswaroopa Iyer's latest on Draupadi... it's fantastic! Might not be best for readers who don't know the story as she skips around certain events, but of all hundreds of books on this character that have been written by various authors over the years, I think this was the most inspiring and respectable version, most true to the original text and intent. Highly recommend.

I have read so many renditions of the great epic that somehow i just dont feel like picking up anything more. I suggest you pick up Vikramaditya veergatha series and thundergod. They are quite good. I am eagerly waiting more books in this series to come out
The Draupadi book you have been reading, is it available on forum?

I don't think that particular one is yet, but the author's other titles based on Vedic characters are. Just search Saiswaroopa Iyer. She's really good, perfect blend of authenticity and creativity.
