I read Aryavarta series By Krishna Udayshankar
Its a 3 book series which is a political take on the Mahabharata and will go in the Mytho-Fiction Genre
I will rate it 8.5/10 and will definetily recommend for all who like Mytho-Fiction
I recently finished a non fiction, Footprints on Zero Line: Writings on the Partition by Gulzar. Would rate it a 8/10. With both prose and poetry, it is a heartrenching take on how partition affected the common people who were uprooted from their homes overnight.
Recently finished "Red Sparrow" by Jason Matthews. It's a first in the Trilogy. Genre - Espionage. Rating: 8/10. Quite interesting considering the author was himself in CIA and recruitment game. Can't wait to start the second part but currently starting with our monthly group read.
I read 'Purple Hibiscus', one of the random books I picked up from the Reading Room. It is a fiction tracing the lives of a family in postcolonial Nigeria. I'd rate it 7. It was a very interesting read and I'm glad I took the time to read it! Anybody interested in reading about the lives of people in Nigeria might find this interesting. The story specifically deals with strained family relationships and a sadistic father.
