I would like to read books written by authors of various countries of the world. English translations. I have read a few and there are books on my TBR list also. Would like this group to suggest and add to this list of authors of different countries. Eg. Elena Ferrante(Italy), Heinrich Harrer(Liechtenstein).

Ryszard Kapuscinski, a Polish journalist wrote a travel book in 2001 called The Shadow of the Sun on his travels in Africa which has been translated into English. Unique and moving experience.
