I would be interested in people's thoughts on the best way to get into yoga.
From what little I know it would seem there are many personal benefits of yoga, and therefore many reasons to do it. One of my primary reasons is body flexibility as I get into my 60s and 70s. The relaxation and other benefits would be helpful as well.
My question is should I start with a book, a video, or get into a local class? And which book(s)?? Video(s)?? Type of class??
What other things should I be considering in order for this to be a lasting change in my life?
In follow up, are all classes pretty much the same or are there certain things I should consider when selecting a class as a beginner. For instance the fitness center I go to has several classes a week that meet, but then there are also studios in my area that specialize in nothing but yoga.
