What is a book club without a group read?! World book day is Monday April 23. Let us all decide the book we would be reading as a group.
Nominate the book you want to read. You can also second a book nominated by another member. Silent members, do join in. Once we have sufficient nominations, I will put up a poll to decide the group read. Probably by end of next week.
Do you prefer a monthly book read, or a fortnightly one? Do include it with your nomination. As much as we all love reading, we have other responsibilities too. Reading should be fun and not a race to finish.
With varied interests of different members, would it be possible to arrive at a common denominator?
I can make a suggestion for a very light read. Obviously it's mystery book available on this form. "Three and a Half Murders" by Salil Desai. There's some good character study of the actors involved. OR we can take up by the same author "Lost Libido and Other Gulp Fiction" - A collection of his short stories. We can then discuss the merits and demerits of each story and which one you liked the best and why?

Thank you for the nominations. This is an experiment to get more people involved. Let's see if people are interested.
Also, the primary of the book clubs I belong to offline are the group reads.
It means we have to postpone it for now. However, I feel the best way is to have a book review thread. That way, anyone can post the reviews of the books recently read by her/him. The book can simultaneously be discussed by those who have read. With a warning of Spoliers! of course. In addition, it doesn't feel like a task!
I remember you wrote in one of the posts that you had set up or were about to set up the review thread. If you have, can you post the link? I cannot find it in this group.

Let's get back to it later. It is supposed to be a "group" read .
Book review section is actually a thread type slash section (tab on top). You can create a thread under it. Having a Book Review label would act as an auto warning for spoilers. Having one single thread for all reviews and discussions would end up being messy in my opinion. Let me know if you need help creating the thread.
