We get flu all the time-call it viral fever. only-this one showed up with dreadful effects for folks with co-morbidity. So it is here to stay. Only way-get yourselves vaccinated and build up immunity and it may come and go but with some paracetamol, it will disappear each time. So maybe we will all become health conscious and not worry much about it

In the UK life seems to have come to a standstill for many of us. True, children can go to school, many people can still go to work, but for the most part we are strictly guarded and restricted in our movements, legally bound to our homes and given limited ability to do anything. In such circumstances the pandemic is a nightmare. I am not sure how long it will last, but the draconian methods of keeping us prisoners is suffocating us.

Actually it is a pandemic. But I agree with you too. There is 2 sides already.

It will end when 80% of population are vaccinated because then there shouldn't be enough "hosts" for the viruses anymore to multiply and spread. The great unknown is whether there is sufficient time for the virus to reproduce often enough and to change its genom by it. Variations which spread easier will then have a higher rate of growth and if we're unlucky also come with mechanisms to defeat the current vaccines in place.

And all of that is being expedited by us. When we insist on not taking precautions, when politicians explain that this is at best a flue (which is a corona virus as well but a different one) and thus we shouldn't worry, or when thousands of brainless people meet for protests without distance and masks. So I guess it's true after all, we will kill ourselves not with weapon but with stupidity one day.
