When Thomas Alva Edison successfully invented light bulb, world knows that he had failed already 1000 times before, without losing enthusiasm. During that time, one day Edison called his naive office boy to test that invented bulb constructed by him. The office boy was very panicky even to hold the bulb in his hand. He was trembling to hold it and out of nervousness he dropped the bulb and broke it, to everybody’s dismay. Edison’s office staff and his assistants were shocked and upset over this. After 2 days Edison again called the same office boy to his cabin. All assistants of Edison had assembled in that room as Edison displayed his newly constructed bulb. He then asked his office boy to test it, all over again. All assistants were shocked at his decision of trying out the new bulb with the same bloke. All were univocal in warning him , ‘why did you call him again? chances are bright that he might drop that bulb again and all your efforts will be wasted”, lamented with lot of concern. Edison replied with a smile, “It took about only one day to construct that bulb again and even if he drops it now, I can construct a new bulb within a day since I now know the way of making a bulb. But if I don’t give him another chance he would lose all his self belief and self confidence and that is difficult to recover. I don’t want that to happen.” Point: Sometimes all you need is a second chance. Mistakes are simply another chance on getting it right. The best thing you give someone is a chance, to try again smartly and without losing enthusiasm !!
