First of all, when you start this book, dont keep any previous works of author in mind especially Chanakya's Chants.
The books starts on a promising note and there is trademark Ashwin Sanghi thriller plot at work. But somehow it loses steam in the middle part. I feel Ashwin Sanghi has gone too deep into discussing religious symbolism and ancinet Indian knowledge; you feel as if you are not reading a work of fiction but a reserach paper on Indian and Budhist mysticism and symbolism. Here he loses the grip on novel, as though these elements are integral to this story as in almost all his novels but it has been discussed for too long and given much too space for its own good.
Ashwin Sanghi has evloved as a writer but this evolution has made him lose his USP i.e. instant connect with audience by simple writing and not digressing off the plots. The reader is important but by discussing too much mysticism he has taken away the plot's core. Yes there are twists and turns but they are too few and with lots of gap between them.
I was thoroughly disappointed by this attempt of author and would only give 2.5/ 5 stars for this book....
Chanakya Chants remains best bok by author for me......
There is no harm in reading anything. As a principle I never shy away from reading a book, if you dont read it how can you judge that it is good or bad..It depends on person to person as to what we like or not. I didnt find it interesting enough as I have read a lot about such stuff but you may like it
I haven't read Chanakya Chants. Keeper of Kaalchakra was my 1st book by Ashwin Sanghi which i read. I agree with you that he had discuss religious symbolism & ancient Indian knowledge in deep. but that didn't deter my interest in completing the book. I genuinely feel those discussions were important for the reader for completely understand the story & its background.

I understand your point and have said earlier that as a reader my views are my own. I wrote what i felt and since I have some more books by the author especially his earlier ones I felt overwhelmed by extra information served....If you like it well thats your call
