If only kindle can add back few features....
1 Music player
2 Smell of the spine glue and the ageing ...

Gosh, God forbid! a big no to 1

smaller no to 3

2 is ok! I also sort of like the smell of an old book or a totally new one! :-)

I love kindle because it is pure book reader. the moment you start giving additional "features ", gimmicks, etc then the whole beauty of it goes out of the window! A TAB does almost all that of kindle PLUS it supports tons of other capabilities... But kindle wins hands down for me when it comes to reading books - why ? no distraction, no alerts, no pop-ups, no email support, no browsing nothing... plus its incredible battery life - which comes to more than 1 week of active reading without recharge, makes it a no brainer for me....There was an article few years back on the rationale behind the design of kindle - why they decided NOT to give so many features - even multi-touch or stretch and zoom capability, etc...

If afeature is there doesn't mean you have to use it.
To each his own

Very true that. I love reading while listening to music but I know people who find that distracting. No harm in including the feature for those who might use it.

I use an iPad and this has never happened to me. Even in Ladakh. I put my ebooks on the device its ...

I figured it out once I reached home after the trip. It was some issue with the settings. I guess, Providence wanted me to enjoy my holiday!

Ebook readers are so convenient for the modern day readers... They offer verstality to the readers, overcome space constraints and a lot more convenient... But still the old school avid readers sometimes crave for the physical book for the joy of holding and flipping pages while enjoying its aroma.
