I'm surprised that Amish Tripathi is so popular among many readers. I read his very first book - The immortals of Meluha and was appalled by the poor narrative style. Sure, the idea itself is very interesting and I can imagine a lot of reluctant readers willingly reading it, but how did the editors let it get published the way it was?
Also, I read that he did a good amount of marketing to make his book popular, so that probably helped as well.
