OnePlus Launcher 4.4.2 brings improved multi-tasking and quick search

OnePlus issued a new update for its OnePlus Launcher bearing the 4.4.2 version number. The main new addition is the revamped multitasking navigation setup which now includes app icons in the recent apps menu. There’s also a new gesture-based trigger to toggle quick search in the app drawer.


The new icons in the multitask bar can act as a slider bar which allows for faster scrolling through open apps and easily identifies apps thanks to the icons on the bottom. Another smaller change is the removal of the “X” button which has now been replaced with a “Close Apps” option. Accessing the more options section in the multitasking menu is now performed by long-pressing on an app preview.


The second new addition is the shortcut to the quick search menu in the app drawer. Users will now be able to press and hold while swiping up to trigger the search box, which is much easier during one-handed operation. The latest version of the OnePlus Launcher is already live on Google Play.
