In the UK, a few interesting things have happened.
Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, came down with the virus and self isolated. He later became terribly ill and had to be hospitalised.
Weeks earlier, the government announced (indirectly) that the NHS (National Health Service) could handle the situation as long as no more than 20, 000 people died from the virus. As of today, fatalities have reached 19, 000.
While 144, 000 people have since been infected, only 693 have actually recovered. Perhaps even more worrying, more and more people who do not have weak immune systems, are not elderly, do not suffer from any diseases, are now dying from it. |
