In recent years, individual capacity to use more and more internet data has increased. There was a time when watching YouTube in high quality felt a bit expensive in terms of data. But now that people have access to more data than ever before, you would ask, what is the need of downloading videos? The reason is YouTube itself. It has made it increasingly difficult to watch the videos because of advertisements. Sure, that's how YouTube earns money but ruining the experience is not something that any viewer would be happy with. Not only are advertisements scheduled on either side of the video being watched, you run into frustrating irrelevant advertisements in middle of videos too. Of course there is an option of YouTube Premium too but the reason YouTube is popular is because its free.
Do you feel the same way? Let's talk about this

Yeah there were no ads on YouTube in olden days wish it would have stayed that way. It seems the ads are getting longer as the time passes. Maybe you should try YouTube Vanced. It's a popular cracked YouTube app were all premium features are unlocked and it seems to be getting better with every update.

They are trying to generate more and more revenue year on year. Being one of the most used and almost free platform, users will still use it even though they don't like it. This is the truth of digital age. It comes with its own benefits and disadvantages.

I watch YouTube on my Surface Pro tablet on Chrome. There was a time that I could live with the ads that came before the video, thinking that Google and the video uploaders need that to survive. But it became too much of an annoyance. I would often see 2 ads back to back. And the most intrusive of all were the banner ads throughout the video. They had that small x on the corner to close but often, on the tablet, instead of touching the x to close the banner, I ended up opening the ad. It became too much to ignore and I installed UBlock Origin. Sure, I feel bad, as if I'm cheating Google and the video uploader of their legitimate dues, but its either that, or I drop YouTube altogether.

There is no free lunch...
There is absolutely nothing free, everything has a price, visible or hidden/underlying, and certainly, everything demands a job and an effort. In addition, there are other alternatives to YouTube (some better and some worse)... Many times, the most difficult to change, are the customs, especially the habit of going the easy way of gratuity or of the subsidies.

Yes...echoing the author's sentiments. YouTube has now millions of video clips but advertisements seriously impair the joy of uninterrupted viewing.

Authorities should give a serious thought to this issue.

My view is that you tube also needs money to survive, the storage of videos and bandwidth does have price. Also I dont mind a couple of ads, Mostly I see youtube on my PC and the kind of vidoes that I see do not have too many ads hence it is a smooth viewing experience for me.

Although I agree that a few videos that I saw had far too many adverts, and that was annoying. Also the content of the videos was not as much worth hence the ads became more annoying.
