Vivo to launch its 5G smartphone after these three companies

Few popular smartphone brands have already confirmed their intentions to launch a 5G smartphone by 2019. These include Samsung, OnePlus and Huawei. However, Vivo too seems to be in the same race but is trailing behind. The company that introduced the in-screen fingerprint display in smartphones this year, could launch its first 5G smartphone in 2020.
This news came directly from Vivo during the International Symposium on ICT Technology. The Chinese tech firm said that although it will be introducing a pre-release 5G smartphone in 2019, the commercial device will be arriving in 2020. Also mentioned was that the firm has filed over 1,500 proposals to the 3GPP standardization organization in the past two years.
Vivo has not yet revealed the details about the device.
That said, the first 5G smartphone in 2019 could be coming from Samsung. The South Korean tech firm has already confirmed that it will be launching one in ‘early 2019’. This might be followed by OnePlus and Huawei. Although there’s no timeline given by OnePlus, Huawei has confirmed that its 5G smartphone could be coming in June.
A report from September indicated that Huawei’s first 5G smartphone could be a foldable device. This was reportedly confirmed by Huawei’s Chairman Ken Hu at the World Economic Forum. Hu said that the company’s first 5G smartphone will also be its foldable device. He reconfirmed that everything is going according to the plan and the new smartphone is expected to launch by mid-2019.
It is also rumoured that Samsung is working on three smartphones. While the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ will be launched before, their 5G version will be arriving slightly late. The company however, has not yet confirmed any of this for now.
While these two are working hard on foldable 5G smartphones, OnePlus has not yet revealed any details yet.
