Absence of own Avatar picture prevents me from joining reading room

I have looked at the suggestions and advice for uploading avatar pictures, but even after trying them, I am still unable to change it, hence why I am also not able to fulfil that condition for joining the reading room.

Can you let me know what I have to do now to join the reading room if this is the case.

This message is for those who may have had or still have my original difficulties with uploading a different image for the avatar picture.

I was using Internet Explorer and the required keys and extra information to alter the avatar picture were not available there.

I switched to Chrome and only then, using the information given by the moderator/s and the site, could I adjust my avatar image.

For others, they may need to use Firefox or some other equivalent/s for the avatar changes to work.
