Hi ... It is a valid observation but some additional precisions are necessary:
The main reason why the category "collections" was established, was to define and better typify those sets of books that (being from the same author or the same topic), contain different literary genres. But additionally, there is a prevalence reason that makes it necessary to have a category that tipify the collections of books that are shared or built.
In this sense, some users are additionally adding [labels] at the beginning of the titles of the threads for a better definition.
On the other hand, there are also users whose generous contributions are mostly collections and need a category that better defines the threads that they build.
It is in the criterion of the users to use the most appropriate category to typify the threads they create, the category "Collection" is only an additional category that together with the other categories, help to better organize and typify the contents that are shared in the Reading Room section. It should be noted that, for example, there is the category "Others", which is often used as a wild card, when it is not known or is not possible to determine with precision the literary genre or category to which a book belongs, and this situation It could also generate dissatisfaction in users who want to find more precisely the content they are looking for. However, there is no doubt that the category "Others" is necessary, even with the difficulties that may arise.
Finally, keep in mind that, the criterion of a collection is superior, broader and encompassing, to the criterion of an individual book, in that sense, to typify or categorize a thread that contains many books, when those books can have several categories, the Collection category can help to better define that situation.
There are several search methods to try to find a book, in my experience, there is no infallible method, for this reason it is necessary to combine the different search methods. Performing the search based on the filtering of the categories, is perhaps the most imprecise method there is. Certainly, many people can find that method very useful, it depends a lot on what one is looking for. But, in my opinion, I would not advise to stick with or rely exclusively on that method.
For example, the category "Others" is the second with the highest number of threads, and can influence determinantly the inaccuracy of the book search by filtering the categories.
The search methods through the internal search engine of the forum and through google, can be more satisfactory. It's just an opinion.
To establish double simultaneous categories for a thread, unfortunately, is unfeasible. And the addition of new categories is not an immediate process, it usually takes some time to establish new categories, however, as the section grows and develops, changes and improvements in line with that evolution will also be implemented. |
