Genre : Rom-Com
Run Time : 119 U/A
Directed by R. S. Prasanna
Aanand L Rai has some Special Emotional connection with South Indian Movies, Thanks to him for making a way to Prasanna for the Bollywood entry. Prasanna could have just done Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+P but he didn’t. He instead waited for years together and overhauled the tale again. Shubh Mangal Savdhan is inspired by his own Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham.
Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann Khurrana) falls in love with Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar) and they both gets engaged. Now don’t come to a conclusion “Arey Yaar Same Old Love Story”. There’s a twist in the tale, Mundit discovers he’s suffering from erectile dysfunction and plans to call off the wedding after many unsuccessful effort to solve the problem. Sugandha learns about his Gents Problem (That’s what he calls in the movie) , and she tries to make him understand that she love him a lot and nothing can stop her loving Mundit for whatever he is. The story keeps progressing with lots of drama in a comical event. And yes the comedy works very well with such an serious subject.
Ayushmann and Bhumi, its a treat to watch them again after Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Seema Bhargava Pahwa as Sugandha’s mother Nailed it again as the perfect Indian Mother. Every dialogue between the mother and the Daughter is so convivial, Back in DLKH , Bareilly Ki Barfi and now in SMS. Seriously her career graph is going high. Hitesh Kewalya’s Script is so solid, which makes the retelling of KSS in an different way so efficacious. At the end when all the movie in my wish list for this weekend goes wrong (Was suggested not to watch them) , Shubh Mangal Savdhan stands as a winner. After all it’s says Stand up for love |
