While Amish Tripathi need to be lauded for bringing back the myth-fic genre to limelight. Krishna Udayshankar is good too. Her Aryavarta Chronicles is a bang on series.
Both have different styles of writing and Amish can be credited with bringing mythology back to mainstream and portraying characters as normal human beings
Though Ashok Banker is equally good in Mytho fiction genre
Its like choosing between Apple and Oranges, Amish is more of story oriented and KU also gives in between great insights and some thought provoking narratives. Amish is a good read and has a wonderful lucid style of writing but I would say KU is a much better writer not only as a storyteller but also as that additional factor she adds to the narrative.
Ashok Banker is also one writer who impresses, I have read the Ramayan series. The most impressive part was the preface he has written for it. That got me hooked and read through the complete series.
And yes it can be a long list but these are the authors who probably make the difference in Mytho-Fiction books. I may be wrong as no one can read the plethora of books that are coming out nowadays...So add on to the list please
Amish Tripathi always..But Krishna udayshankar is also very good...Aryavrata Chronicles damn good serise..Immortal by Udayashankar is also good read not read yet Three by Udayshankar..hope that is also good...
Eagerly waiting for Raavan-Orphan of aryavrata by Amish..
