I had been gifted a collection of Harlan Coben books years ago and that is how I was introduced to the man who weilds mystery.
But more often than not his stories are repeated with different characters in various books. How do you rate this guy? I for one credit him for his imaginative stance on common folks and their problems, but as I said he repeats his story quite a lot. Does that make him a good mystery writer?
I have his collection but never got down to reading them. A friend tried but he said, like you, repetitive. Then there were other more interesting books to read so haven't given him a try. I am currently reading "Calling Sehmat" and it's interesting, can bring tears to your eyes. Next on the list is the Red Sparrow trilogy by Jason Matthews. So may be after that....!
Well it's not that I don't like reading his work. Got to give him due, he is able to create thrill with his work. Its just that it gets repetitive after third or fourth book.
