Latest releases, book reviews and recommendations, author interviews, literary fests..... what is your source of books related news? Do you follow blogs, social media accounts, and the likes? Or are you someone who is interested in only reading books?

My source is the Hindustan Times Books section which is pretty good. I also check out HT-Nielsen top 10 there, India's answer to New York Times Bestsellers list.

What about you? Do share.

I usually go through the NYT bestsellers lists. Will check out the HT section you mentioned.

My one stop shop is mobilism these days. I will usually check out the entries there, then go up to goodreads and check out the reviews. Then there are a few good groups on FB. I like to frequent a group called "Senior Reading Raccoons". Apart from this, I receive a few mailers. "Brain Pickings" usually has a few good recommendations. Then, of course, there is Amazon. You can always rely on Amazon to tell you about new books. Google Play books has good offers, but they don't do much for you in the reviews department. Juggernaut is pathetic. I have bought a few from them, but i haven't read a single one yet!

I use mobilism to only download books. Must say, it is quite extensive. Maybe I need to check the entries there.

I subscribe to Maria Popova too. She is my go-to for the non fictions. Haven't checked out the Facebook groups yet. Ditto on Juggernaut. The quality there is mostly pathetic.

Jhsurti: Missed including NYT Bestsellers. That is kind of given.

My phone.

I actually search for new releases in specific genres. I know it's an outdated way of looking up for books but I am technically challenged. And as of now I am only reading editorials and stuff like that.

I forgot to add mobilism. I use it to download books, if the links still work, that is. Usually the links work. But at times, I search for books that had been posted some time back. In those cases, the links don't work! So I have to use alternate sources for download.

Ah. That reminds me. For books that are on mobilism with dead links, my first port of call is this place: http://b-ok.org/
Then, if that doesn't work, I'll go here: http://en.booksee.org/

and if that doesn't work, I'll try the Internet Relay Chat. I learnt about the IRC at UCForum. It's easy enough to install on your windows computer. You can find the instructions online, if you don't already know about this (I am saying this for the benefit of others who might read this. I am not assuming anything about present company).

I don't have the instructions handy or at least not in the form that I had found them at UCForum, but if somebody has them down step by step, they could post them here.

I have found the IRC hugely useful in ebook hunting. There is a small hack that you need to download too, because the thing needs a license before it will sing, dance and cough up the books for you.

Thanks for sharing. I've never used IRC. It is far too technical for me.
