Guys as some of you will remember i had recommended in UCforum that ALL kind of material (including adult, errotic, LSB & MM) should be allowed in the forum. I would like to recommend a debate in this forum too & if the majority does feel like it and the Adminstrators approve I would recommend a new group "ADULT" on same lines as Ebooks, Music etc this group can have a filter option to allow ppl above 18 years (keep the law in view) and can have sub groups like Ebooks, Music, Video & Adult Jokes. Please do give your comments if you agree to this or not! Looking forward to a healthy discussion on this topic!!

I agree with nishant. We can't allow it in all sections of forum and it can create bigger problems as nishant already said.

We can have good posts without adult contents.  These are not must have for all users. So members can enjoy freely Craxme but adult contents can't be allowed.

Also we can't restrict these contents with correct manner. So we can avoid them in Craxme and make it more better in other ways.

For ebook section we are not giving final answer now. We will have more discussions and let you know the final decision later if we can make any adjustment for ebook section only with conditions applied.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Thread closed to avoid further discussions on that topic.

Although I do not have the spirit to generate controversy, since it is clear that there are certain legal limitations that (to my surprise) limit the breadth of criteria through legislation, that the State be given the ability to decide what the people can read or can not read, the state decides which information is allowed to access and which is not allowed to access. I only regret that there are differences that disadvantage certain citizens according to the geographical location where they live or have been born, versus other citizens who in other parts of the world can freely access and have all the information they want, without the States or governments decide for the people. I hope that one day that unfortunate situation will end and everyone will enjoy the freedom to decide for themselves, what they want.
On the other hand, and specifically, about books. Censoring a book by its content is a situation that certainly surprises me and I am very sorry that this happens. Is a human anatomy book obscene? A classic painting book containing artistic nudity is pornographic? Bukowski's book Factotum is erotic? Are the human artistic manifestations that reflect their sexuality immoral? Consequently, all these artistic manifestations must be repressed, censored and prohibited? Well, I would like everyone to have the freedom to decide what they want to read or do not want to read. And nothing and no one should limit or coerce that freedom. It is unfair that there is inequality in access to information, that in certain parts of the world people can not access information that elsewhere circulates freely.
I hope that we can make the Forum an open place to all the information and knowledge available on equal terms for all. Nothing makes a person more free, than the knowledge he can learn and the capacity for critical thinking that he can develop.

We live in a world where every kind of content is easily available. Therefore restricting any content in the forum is not practical. besides If One is adult he can very well decide about his reading habits.

No

As our server is based in India , we have to follow certain rules and regulations.

In India, under the Information Technology Act, 2000, this is a grey area of the law, where it is not prohibited but not legalized either.

Under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 makes the following acts punishable with imprisonment upto 3 years and fine upto 5 lakhs:

  • Publication- which would include uploading on a website, whats app group or any other digital portal where third parties can have access to such content.
  • Transmission- this includes sending obscene photos or images to any person via email, messaging, whats app or any other form of digital media.
  • Causing to be published or transmitted- this is a very wide terminology which would end up making the intermediary portal liable, using which the offender has published or transmitted such obscene content. The Intermediary Guidelines under the Information Technology Act put an onus on the Intermediary/Service Provider to exercise due diligence to ensure their portal is not being misused.

NEVER

Such types of contents must never
be posted in this or any other forum as such types of contents are immoral, produce harm in society, make people diseased and are unnecessary We don't need such contents in our lives. Instead we should increase the number of books in Science & technology, health & fitness and religion category. Adult contents must be deleted immediately after getting posted.
