Previously I used torrents for big files. But few years ago I stopped using it. Anybody using torrents in CraxME? Is there any legal issues you are facing?

Not that 'I' faced any legal issue but Torrent Tracker Websites did, apparently, which means one by one they all shut down themselves. PirateBay is still alive but to find a working proxy for it is, well, needle in a haystack situation.

Regardless, I do ended up using torrents every now and then, when I've exhausted every other avenue for something I'm searching on internet. YTX / YIFY is still one of the places you could get movies in HD and Full HD resolutions.

All depends on situation. Sometimes TPB won't open if VPN is engaged. But for actual downloads I do use VPN. I download rarely too that way, torrents i mean, so data cap doesn't come in the way.

I do not use the small meta files (torrent magnets) posted on CraxMe. For those who do, there should be no legal issues as these files are not media content (eBooks, movies, TV shows). They're just "keys" that one plugs into a P2P client (I use rTorrent).

The issue with public trackers like ThePirateBay (and CraxMe) is that unscrupulous users have no sense of community and don't give as much as they take. This is also called "hit and run". The result is a lop-sided P2P process that bogs down availability and speed.

I have torrented approx 10yrs now using the world's largest private tracker (IPT). The beauty of a private tracker is that the ratio of give/take is enforced at >1. My seedbox is hosted in Amsterdam (Netherlands) which as a country does not follow DCMA copyright, so no need of a VPN. My media content (900-1100 files with a 16+ ratio) seed to others 24X7, some continuously since 2014. No content sits on my local machine.

PM if you have questions.
