▼ As a teenage rape survivor demanding justice battles for her life ( Politician accused of rape  expelled from BJP, 1 August), we are shocked and outraged at the Indian government’s approach to violence against women and girls and its shielding of alleged perpetrators, particularly those who are leaders or close associates of the ruling BJP. We always respected women since ancient days & Goddess are worshipped by most of us. Many positive steps has been taken by Government as well as society by way if new laws & education.

Compared to our population size the crimes are very small in number. But yes we do fail to protect women and provide them with justice in the right time.

We need to change our attitude towards women. It is changing but still will take time. We should teach our children to behave with women and treat them equally.

Such crimes damage a country's image. Although the number of such crimes are less in comparison to India's large population, more steps should be taken to reduce the number of such crimes further and further. Government is already taking steps in right directions and hope things will change more and more positive in future.
