Android smartphone users may be able to get unlimited storage from Google Photos



Developers may have found a way to get unlimited storage from Google Photos, even for those who do not own a Pixel smartphone.
The technology giant lets Pixel smartphone users store unlimited full-resolution photos and videos. Now, some developers claim to have found a way to do away with that requirement and reports suggest that they found a way to obtain abundant Google Photos storage on any device that runs either Android Nougat or a higher version of Android.

However, we must point out that in order to do this, users will have to root their Android smartphones. According to XDA Developers, a file that is found on Pixel smartphones has to be downloaded on the device and then uploaded.
Additionally, in some cases, other more complicated adjustments may be required. One has to also give some required file permissions and then reboot their device. Once the device restarts, a user has to go to Google Photos' Settings and wipe Google Photos' app data.
Although we didn't test the hack ourselves, reports suggest that in spite of doing this, some developers have found that their uploaded photos and videos are still being counted in Google Drive storage. Whereas other users claim that the hack works for them.

Recently, it was also reported that Google Assistant -- which lets users control Chromecasts from its "Google Home" smart speakers -- is now expanding the feature to Google Assistant on Android smartphones and iPhones. According to reports, the Google assistant app can control a cast session through voice and the user can even specify which Chromecast in the house is the target.
