Bill Gates made a surprise visit to Queen Mary and Westfield College (QMW) in London, England last Friday.
The attendance of the American entrepreneur was via a special invitation by the university to him alone, although even prominent faculty members and specialist members had not been informed of it prior to the event.
The presentation, although open to all students and lecturers at the university, was scheduled in the early afternoon in the main auditorium and could only be attended through a small sum. At £10 per head for a seat, the proceeds would go to his various charities.
Ticket sales for his speech commenced at 12.00. By 12.10, all tickets had been sold and all students in the queue were told they could no longer attend. |
