The only way to rid Venezuela of the tyrant and his mafia that controls to country, is a military intervention of a coalition of countries (Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile and USA)... As the allied coalition to confront and overthrow Hitler . There's no other way.
I predict that Maduro will die like the tyrant Mussolini, dragged through the streets of Caracas and hanged.

All tyrants, sooner or later, die in the worst way.

I should have known that Chile and Peru would join that coalition. Wouldn't it be nice if S. American neighbors alone could address the horrors perpetrated on their borders and economies? The US and Canada need to stay home, resolving their own challenges.
I believe your prediction for Maduro is correct and could occur almost immediately...barring N. Korea offering asylum to the criminal.

The problem with outside military intervention is the chaos that follows the removal of the despot.Iraq and Libya are examples to remember.Support to local groups to overthrow the existing regime may be a desirable option though results might be slow.

The problem is that the tyrant has slavishly allied with Russia and China, but while the Chinese have economic interests in Venezuela, Russian interests are strategic and military.
The dictator Maduro offered the Russians to Venezuela on a silver platter, so that Russia could install military bases there. A coalition of countries supported by the presence of the USA would prevent Russian intervention on this side of the world. I do not think the US wants an expansion and Russian presence here, the US would not want another "missile crisis" as happened in Cuba. But nobody wants another Cuba here either.
The regrettable thing is that López Obrador has supported the tyrant, between leftists shake hands. Unfortunately now the USA has a president like Trump, lacking strategic vision and political sense.
The US should preventively seize CITGO and apply an oil blockade, that is, cut off the flow of money that finances the dictatorship. With the oil dollars, the tyrant buys weapons of repression, Venezuela can not stand one more death at the hands of the tyrant.
Diplomacy does not work with tyrants.

Maybe neighboring Colombia should seize CITGO from Venezuela. Colombia's navy wouldn't even need to use the Panama Canal. Let's see how Colombia fares on the world stage under the spotlight. Same for nearby Brazil...stand up, be a global cop for a change.
Just give the US back their 5 CITGO executives that have been held in prison without consular access since NOV 2017. The US doesn't need anyone's oil.

USA does not need oil (now), but the dictator does need dollars, dollars from the pockets of US citizens, every time you fill fuel in CITGO, a part of that money funds the regime of the tyrant Maduro.
But I forgot something prevailing, Trump is a person manifestly amoral and very poor intellectually.
"The policeman of the world" is a leftist discourse, the communist and socialist Reds of the Sao Paulo forum repeat it to the point of satiety.
Anyway, let's suppose that Trump's lack of strategic vision makes him decide that it is best to ignore the situation. No problem, a coalition of countries could easily be formed without the presence of the USA, it has happened this way before in the history of this continent, there are no reasons why it can not happen again now.
The bottom line is, can a tyrant and dictator exist in the 21st century? Can one be indifferent to crushing and destruction of freedoms and the death of innocents at the hands of a tyrant?
The deaths of innocents continue to accumulate, this problem is more than a mere issue of oil or money, this problem has to do with civil and economic freedoms, which in the end are much more important values for anyone who prides himself as a democrat and defender of the rule of law.
The decision is simple, either one is in favor of the tyrant, or one is in favor of democracy and freedom. Inaction and indifference only favors the tyrant.
